How to froth milk using a French Press
Want to make a latte or cappuccino at home? But you don’t have an espresso machine to steam milk. No problem! We’ll teach you how to froth milk at home using a French press.
Choose your milk. We usually use whole milk or 2% because they have more fats and proteins that help increase the creaminess of the foam.
Microwave the milk for about 30 – 45 seconds. You can also heat the milk on the stove. However, using a microwave is easier.
Pour the warm or hot milk into the french press and attach the french press lid/plunger.
Raise and plunge the fine mesh filter of the french press for about 20 times or so until the milk has doubled in size.
Then remove the french press lid/plunger and pour the freshly made frothed milk into your drink and enjoy!
Note: I usually swirl and tap the french press pitcher on the counter to get rid of big bubbles so that I can achieve a close resemblance to a perfect velvety foam that a steam wand creates.
